Mandate of the Department:

The Department administers and monitors the functions of Deputy Commissioners and supdts.of Police with regard to the issue of passport and extension of visa etc. as per the guidelines of the Govt. of India.

There is no Directorate or subordinate offices etc. under the control of the Passport Department.

Acts & Rules Administered by the Department:

The Department discharges its functions in accordance with the Acts, Rules, Regulations, Instructions, Manuals etc. issued by the Govt. of India as well as the Govt. of Assam from time to time.
