» Assam Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (AIIDC)

Assam Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation is established for the purpose of securing and assisting in the rapid and orderly establishment and organization of industries in industrial areas, industrial estates, growth centres, IIDC centres and in establishment of commercial estate for growth of industries in the state of Assam.

Govt. of Assam vide notification (i) No.CI.383/97/15 dated Dispur, the 11th Dec.'97, (ii) No.CI.383/87/84 dated Dispur the 11th August, 2000, (iii) Cl.383/97/97 dated Dispur, the 3rd March 2001 and (iv) Cl. 135/2005/7 dated Dispur, the 4th June, 2005 placed following offices/ establishment at the disposal of AIIDC temporarily with existing assets and liabilities.

Activities of AIIDC :
Brief Description of the schemes indication the main objectives, Components and Beneficiaries :
Above mentioned 9 (nine) nos. of Industrial Estates/ Industrial Areas etc. are maintained by the corporation and sheds/ open spaces are allotted to entrepreneurs/ industrialists for setting up industrial units there on lease rent basis, which is fixed by Govt. from time to time.

Under the Govt. of India's notification no F. No.- 2(1) 90 Plg dtd. New Delhi the 17th. March, 1994 the Scheme Integrated Infrastructure Development Centre (IIDC) has been introduced.

Aims & objects - Following are the aims & objects of the IIDC scheme.

i) to develop infrastructural facilities in the rural areas to ensure industrialization. Particular emphasis has been given for development of agro industries sector to lift the economic condition of farmers.
  To promote linkages between agricultural trades & industries.
  To ensure cluster growth of rural economic activities supported by well conceived infrastructural facilities in the IIDC

In the back ground of the above stated policy Govt. of India has accorded sanction the IIDC project at Banderdewa under the Dist. Lakhimpur (Assam) in the year 2005.

Scope of the Project : The IIDC, Banderdewa is in the Lakhimpur District of Assam. It is on the National High way - 52 connecting North Lakhimpur the district Head Quarter in one side and Itanagar the state Capital of Arunachal Pradesh on the other side. Banderdewa is the gateway of Itanagar.(Arunachal Pradesh).It is 35 Kilometers from the Banderdewa. The Lilabari Air Port is located at a distance of 65 KM and Harmuty Railway Station 6.00 KM from the Banderdewa IID Centre.
Infrastructural facilities : Infrastructural facilities like Land development, Road communication, Electric Power, Water Supply, Post office, Bank, Telecommunication will be provided at IIDC. Banderdewa. Presently Land development work is in progress. Works relating to other components will be started soon after ongoing monsoon season. Several nos of applications demanding land for allotment have been received.

» Integrated Infrastructural Development Centre. Ranaia:

 

Infrastructural development work of IID Centre Rangia is in progress and expected to be completed by 31/12/07 in all respect. It is located on an ideal location by the side of N.H-31, which is being developed as 4-Iane under East -West corridor Scheme of G.O.I. Road distance is 46 km from Guwahati and 6.0km from Rangia town (Sub-Div. Head Quarter). The EPIP (Export Promotional Industrial Park) located around 25K.M from the UDC Rangia project site.

Investors from outside the state as well as from inside the state shown keen interest to set up their units at UDC, Rangia. As good as 23 numbers of proposals for allotment of land have been cleared and their products vary from plastics to steel, chemicals, Agricultural implements to electrical etc.

» Industrial Growth Centre Chaygaun-Patgaon:

 

The Third Growth Centre Project is being set up at the outskirt of the Guwahati City. This Growth Centre Project is being set up at excellent split location at Chaygaon-Patgaon-HMT premises (split location growth centre). This growth centre will have excellent approach road, internal roads, dedicated power line, adequate water supply, communication facilities and central affluent treatment plants Besides the centre would be having facilities such as bank, post office, fire station etc.

Room etc.

(iv) Weight Bridge
(v) Stuff Quarters
(vi) Loading-Unloading Bay
(vii) Truck Parking Area

Upgradation of Industrial Estate, Bamunimaidam, Guwahati in Kamrup District (Assam)
Detailed Project Report on upgradation of Industrial Estate, Bamunimaidam, Guwahati has been prepared and same was forwarded to Govt. of Assam for onward transmission to SIDBI.
(9) Commercial Centre at every Gaon Panchayat Level under Margherita Sub Division in Tinsukia District (Assam)
Detailed Project Report on Commercial Centre at every Gaon Panchayat Level under Margherita Sub Division in Tinsukia District has been prepared and same was forwarded to Govt. of Assam for necessary approval. Total cost of the Project is Rs.483.84 lacs covering 16 nos. of G.P.
(10) The DPR of the following IID Centres will be prepared after obtaining the required viable land and other necessary information's for concern authority.
  i)  IID Centre in Karimganj Distrct: Awaiting consent from ASEB for power
ii) IID Centre in Sibasagar District (At Amguri).
 
 
» TRADE CENTRE SUTARKANDI:

The principal customs check posts or authorized customs routes through which border trade flows to Bangladesh from Assam are - I) Sutarkandi. ii) Dhubri III) Mankachar and IV) Golokganj. Out of these, major share of exports goes through Sutarkandi land customs station. In view of that the Trade Center Sutarkandi project (1* phase) in Karimganj district of Assam has been approved by Govt. of India on 7th. January 2000 under Critical Infrastructure Balance ( C.l.B.) Scheme at a total project cost of Rs. 8.16 Crores subject to the condition that the state Government of Assam provides the land for setting up of the Trade Centre at Sutarkandi and contributes 20% of the project cost, to provide appropriate infrastructural facilities to the exporters and importers of the region who are already engaged in import / export business with the neighbouring country of Bangladesh.

g) Workshop .Canteen, Water supply system, and Electrification.
   
Construction of 2nd phase of the Trade Centre Sutarkandi project has been initiated by AIIDC covering an area of 35 Bighas of land with the following facilities:
a) Dumping yard of coal
b) Truck parking Area
c) Fire fighting office
d) Police out-post
e) Quarters for essential staff
   
Tendering process is going on for the following works:
