Ten Commandments for Officers


DosDon'ts
  1. Set an example by your conduct that improves the image of the Government.
  2. Be punctual and enforce punctuality among subordinates.
  3. Be prompt and transparent in your dealings.
  4. Implement the lawful orders of the superiors without delay and reservation.
  5. As a committed civil servant, faithfully implement the development schemes of the Government with full involvement.
  6. Be positive in your approach to problems relating to weaker sections, Minorities, SCs/STs, etc.
  7. Keep some time earmarked everyday to meet public and show courtesy to all your visitors.
  8. Promptly reply to correspondences received from elected representatives, public organizations and citizens.
  9. Regularly inspect and supervise the work of the subordinates.
  10. Abide by the Constitution of India, show respect to the National Flag and the National Anthem.
  1. Don't behave in a way which is detrimental to the interest of the State and it's people.
  2. Don't be late in attendance as subordinates will follow you.
  3. Don't be hesitant in taking decisions in public interest.
  4. Don't be afraid to express your views objectively before your superiors.
  5. Don't be involved in the political programmes of any political party.
  6. Don't be negative in your approach to problems relating to weaker sections, Minorities, SCs/STs, etc.
  7. Don't keep elected representatives and public waiting at your office doors.
  8. Don't delay in responding to matters of public importance.
  9. Don't remain aloof from your subordinates.
  10. Don't subscribe to any views which is against the Constitution of India, national integrity and sovereignty of the country.
